It’s a new week, and there are more NBA bets for us to win, starting with a pretty solid slate on Monday.
Tonight, we’re looking at a pair of prop bets, as well as a spread pick where we get to fade the worst team in the NBA.
Oh, and we’re fresh off a 2-for-2 prop day on Sunday…
There are some solid games Monday, including the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls battling for play-in tournament positioning ahead of the trade deadline. Let’s dive into tonight’s picks and keep this hot streak going:
NBA best bets record to date
NBA best bets today
- Paolo Banchero OVER 20.5 Points and Assists (-135)
- Nikola Vucevic OVER 14.5 Rebounds and Assists (-120)
- Minnesota Timberwolves -5.5 (-105) vs. Houston Rockets
Paolo Banchero OVER 20.5 Points andAssists (-135)
Vegas is finally starting to bring down some of these Paolo Banchero prop lines, which means I’m going to jump back on my pick to win Rookie of the Year.
Banchero is averaging 20.7 points and 3.8 assists per game this season, and he’s got a shot to have a big game against a Boston Celtics team that won’t have Malcolm Brogdon or Marcus Smart on Monday.
Robert Williams III is also listed as questionable for Boston.
Paolo went off against Boston in a back-to-back earlier this season, posting 20 points and five dimes in the first game and 31 points and three dimes in the second meeting.
The Magic are a much better offensive team at home (114.4 offensive rating) than on the road (107.9 offensive rating), which could help Banchero’s assist numbers tonight.
Banchero has cleared 20.5 points and assists in eight of his last 10 games, averaging 20.0 points and 3.6 dimes per game over that stretch. As good as Boston has been this season, this number is way too low for my liking. Go OVER.
Nikola Vucevic OVER 14.5 Rebounds and Assists (-120)
Nikola Vucevic has been a beast on the glass for the Bulls as of late, and he’s cleared this assist and rebounds prop in nine of his last 10 games heading into Monday’s game against Atlanta.
Vucevic is averaging 13.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in his last 10 matchups, well above his season averages of 11.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
Now, Vuc gets a cupcake matchup against the second worst rebounding team in the NBA. The Hawks allow 46.2 opponent rebounds per game (29th in the NBA) and rank 28th in the league in rebounding percentage.
The key for the Bulls big man in this prop is the rebounding, but he has picked up at least four assists in six of his last seven games.
When Vuc is clearing the glass like he has over his last 10, he’s a must bet at this number because he may not even need an assist to clear this prop.
Minnesota Timberwolves -5.5 (-105) vs. Houston Rockets
Don’t sleep on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have quietly won seven of their last 10 games and may get Rudy Gobert (questionable) back in the lineup against the Houston Rockets on Monday.
The Rockets have lost 13 straight, covering the spread in just one of those 13 games. They absolutely stink, ranking 29th in net rating and defensive rating this season.
The Wolves are eighth in the league in net rating over their last 10 games, and they beat this Houston team by nine points at home on Saturday night.
This is too short of a line when Houston is struggling like this, and the Wolves (now No. 8 in the West) are starting to look more like a playoff team, even with Karl-Anthony Towns out.
I’ll lay the points with the Wolves as road favorites.
