Caldwell-Pope just finished his eight NBA seasons out of the University of Georgia. The former top-10 pick by the Detroit Pistons has spent the last four years in Lakers uniform, helping Los Angeles win its most recent NBA Finals a summer ago down in the Orlando bubble. He signed a three-year deal worth over $39.1 million that went into effect ahead of last year. He will be 28 in 2021-22.

While the Lakers’ title chances hinge on the play of their two superstars in Anthony Davis and LeBron James, Caldwell-Pope will be a big part of their core for next season. He is one of only a handful of players we know for sure will be back in Lakers uniform next year. Caldwell-Pope is coming off a season where he averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

No other details of note have been revealed on Caldwell-Pope and his friends getting robbed.
