Dallas Mavericks fans are hilariously taunting the Los Angeles Clippers during Game 6 using Luke Kennard’s contract.
Credit to Dallas Mavericks fans for their creative trolling in Game 6 against the Los Angeles Clipper on Friday night. Leading the series 3-2 and trying to close out at home, Mavs fans are joyously reminding the Clippers how much they spent on Luke Kennard’s contract extension.
That’s right, the Dallas crowd is literally chanting the annual dollar amount the Clippers are spending on Kennard. Spoiler alert: he’s grossly overpaid.
Mavs fans taunt Clippers about Kennard’s contract extension
In December, Kennard inked a four-year, $64 million contract extension with Los Angeles. The 24-year-old shooting guard averaged 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 63 games played this season.
By halftime Friday, Kennard had one steal and one missed three-point attempt in his five and a half minutes on the court. And yet, he’s literally making twice as much money as Luka Doncic. Let that sink in.
Naturally, NBA Twitter is having a field day with Kennard’s appearance tonight in Game 6. He has been sitting on the bench collecting a fat paycheck for his recent DNP — coach’s decision streak in the playoffs. He played a whopping four minutes in game four.
Whoever Kennard’s agents are, they probably deserve a raise.
