Rockets vs. Clippers prediction and odds for Sunday, January 15

The Los Angeles Clippers are struggling, losing seven of their last 10 games and falling to the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Luckily for Kawhi Leonard and company, they have a favorable matchup against the Houston Rockets, who have lost nine straight games and have the worst record in the NBA.

Houston is in a rebuild, but the team is struggling to even stay competitive as a road underdog, going just 8-14 against the spread this season.

Both of these teams are under .500 against the spread this season, but should we lay the points with the Clippers as home favorites?

Here are the latest odds and my best bet for this game:

Rockets vs. Clippers odds, spread and total

Rockets vs. Clippers prediction and pick

I lean towards the Clippers in this game, but with Paul George out of the lineup my best play is going to be on the total instead.

These two teams have been brutal on offense this season, ranking 29th (Houston) and 28th (Los Angeles) in the league in offensive rating.

The Clippers have actually gone under 221.5 points in five of their last six games, and now they’re facing a poor offense that may not be able to put up the points to push this over.

I will give the Clippers credit, they have been solid on defense (eighth in defensive rating), which should make things tough on this young Houston team.

Last season, the Rockets were a fast-paced team, but this season they rank 17th in the league in that statistic. Los Angeles (22nd in pace) also slows the game down, another good sign for the UNDER.
