Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry appreciated seeing his teammate, Andrew Wiggins, posterize Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić “800” times.
The Mavericks were no match for the Warriors in Game 3, as the Dallas team fell for the third consecutive time in this series.
Golden State’s dominance over Dallas could be summed up in one play: Andrew Wiggins’ posterizing dunk that sent Luka Dončić into another dimension.
The crowd erupted, but no one seemed happier about the dunk than Wiggins’ teammate, Steph Curry.
After the game, Curry was asked whether or not that was his favorite Wiggins dunk of the year, even after Wiggins dunked hard on Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns twice in the same game.
“Absolutely,” Curry affirmed, clarifying that this was now his favorite dunk of his teammate’s. “Fourth quarter in a big win… not just because of Luka, it was because of the way it looked, it was unbelievable.”
“And we got to see 800 replays because of the challenge, so appreciate you, Marc [Davis],” Curry joked. “That was nice.”
Steph Curry relishes in seeing Andrew Wiggins put Luka Dončić on a poster
While the dunks on Towns were powerful, the hilarity of seeing Wiggins brush Dončić aside with his hand as he sails through the air is certainly nice to rewatch 800 times or so.
All jokes aside, Wiggins did a lot for the Warriors in Game 3 besides putting Luka on a poster. Curry led the team with 31 points, but Wiggins wasn’t far behind with 27 points. Together, these two were able to battle against Dončić, who scored 40 points for the Mavericks.
Unfortunately for Dallas, Luka’s efforts weren’t enough to steal a win from a Warriors team that has been on a roll throughout the postseason. Perhaps the worst part of it all is that Game 3 was played at American Airlines Center, so it was Luka’s own home stadium who replayed him on the big screen all 800 times.
