LeBron James called Kevin Hart ‘phenomenal’ in True Story

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James praised comedian Kevin Hart for his dramatic performance in the Netflix limited series “True Story.”

LeBron James frequently shares passionate opinions on Twitter, including his takes on his favorite television shows.

While he loved the Netflix hit Squid Game (but hated the ending), James had nothing but praise for comedian and close friend Kevin Hart for his recent performance in another Netflix production, True Story.

James believes that True Story is “by far one of the best shows out right now”, saying that he’s proud to call Hart his brother because his performance was “phenomenal.”

LeBron James a fan of Kevin Hart in Netflix series ‘True Story’

LeBron James has long been a fan of Hart’s performances, spanning back to when James and Shaquille O’Neal were both teammates on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hart was touring in Ohio and both basketball stars attended the show, where Hart began to do crowd work and mimic O’Neal’s tendency to fall on court.

James stood up and clapped for Hart mid-performance, and the two have remained friends over the years. They even enjoyed a comedic moment on court when Hart held out a cup of water for James during the 2016 All Star Game.

In 2013, news leaked that James and Hart were set to star as brothers in a comedy dubbed Ballers, although the project never came to be. At the time, James decided to focus on basketball, winning three championships from 2013 onward.

Now in Los Angeles, James has been open about focusing on expanding his brand outside of basketball. His biggest role to date in the much-anticipated Space Jam 2 was a disappointing second installment of the beloved cartoon masterpiece.

Since funnyman Kevin Hart has successfully transitioned in his own rebrand as a dramatic actor capable of poignant performances, perhaps James is on the cusp of his own transition to more acting roles himself. Until then, he’ll continue to watch his friend and 76ers diehard take the stage.
