The Miami Heat lost Game 2 as soon as the first quarter ended. Here are three players who need to step up if they want to make it a series against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Miami Heat were hoping to make life miserable for the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs. Just last year, the Heat shockingly eliminated the Bucks in the Eastern Conference semifinals and made it all the way to the NBA Finals. In Game 1, the Heat continued to be a thorn in the side of the Bucks, as they forced overtime before ultimately falling, 109-107.
For Game 2, the Heat were lifeless and could do nothing as the Bucks defeated them 132-98 to extend their series lead to 2-0. If Miami wants to make this a series, they need these three players to step up from their rather dreadful performances on Monday night.
3. Kendrick Nunn
It feels like the easy choice would have been to place Trevor Ariza or Duncan Robinson on this list. While their respective plus/minuses were well in the negative territory, they barely had any shot attempts. That is why Kendrick Nunn makes the list.
In 25 minutes of playing time in the starting lineup, Nunn scored a measly 9 points on 14 shot attempts from the field, making only one of his five 3-point attempts. All of those shot attempts for 9 points? That is not what you are looking for from a starting guard.
If Nunn continues to struggle in their next game, head coach Erik Spoelstra may have no choice but to bench him.
