Damian Lillard shows off rap skills on The Late Late Show (Video)

Damian Lillard is without question the best rapper in the NBA.

The Late Late Show‘s James Corden challenged Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard to lay down a few bars on air last night, and the point guard came through in a big time way. Lillard was called out by Corden for not submitting a #4BarFriday post yet this week, and you can watch the point guard’s flow right here.

Kevin Durant recently declared Lillard as the best rapper in the NBA. There aren’t many players who would deny that, and it would be a lot of fun to hear Durant and Lillard on the same track.

Corden became famous largely due to his “Carpool Karaoke” segment that has included musical superstars such as Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. It would be interesting to see a rap version of that skit with Lillard in the passenger seat, but Corden seems to be more of a musical theatre and pop music fan.

Lillard has proven himself to be one of the greatest young point guards in the league, but the Blazers have yet to achieve team success beyond the Western Conference semifinals with him on the roster. Lillard is releasing a new album next month, and he has also been featured rapping on a State Farm commercial campaign.

He claims that this album will be even better than his last one, and it isn’t that hard to believe him. Lillard is in partial danger of becoming more known for his bars than his basketball skills, but it never hurts to have another job to fall back on.

There is no doubt that he will have plenty of options in the future because he is undisputedly the best rapper in the NBA.
